In 2015, we partnered with Baptist Housing and UBC Okanagan to launch the MUSIC & MEMORY® Program to residents across three Baptist Housing care facilities. Known for its life-changing impact on those living with dementia and other cognitive and physical challenges, the therapeutic music program has allowed the team at Baptist Housing to help their community reconnect with memories and their loved ones, and create moments of joy and peace – all from personalized music. The remarkable power of the MUSIC & MEMORY® program was captured in a video that you can watch here.
MUSIC & MEMORY® Impact Grant
After seeing the outcomes of this program, we knew we needed to find a way to extend the positive impact throughout our service area. With a little help from Concentra’s Empowering Communities Grant, we created the MUSIC & MEMORY® Impact Grant. We’re offering up to 5 grants to help care organizations or service providers get started with the MUSIC & MEMORY® program.
Starter kits will include: a set of 15 MP3 music players, headphones and a/c adapters; laptop, external speakers, iTunes cards, and MUSIC & MEMORY® certification and support. Each starter kit is valued at $4000.
