BC Business Magazine has released their Most Influential Women feature, and among those highlighted are a remarkable group of women making their mark in finance – including our very own Kathy Conway.
Kathy was born in Penticton BC, and raised in Merritt. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a major in business administration and went on to article with Thorne Riddell (now KPMG) in Kamloops.
Kathy began her Credit Union career at Vancity as a Manager in Accounting. She quickly rose through the ranks and earned a position as the VP of Finance.
In 2002, Kathy took on the role of Senior VP and CFO at Interior Savings Credit Union in Kelowna. She was named Interior Savings’ President and CEO in March 2012. One of the accomplishments that Kathy is most proud of is the launch of Interior Savings’ Day of Difference, an annual tradition that sees the organization close up early and spend the afternoon volunteering.
“Day of Difference goes to the heart of who we are. We pride ourselves on being a values-based organization that is close to our community. This way our employees actually get to live that, and be out helping in our communities. Bottom line: when our communities thrive, so do we.” – Kathy Conway
Since joining Interior Savings, Kathy has demonstrated our Credit Union’s values through her unwavering integrity and her commitment to excellence both in the workplace and in the service we provide to our members and our communities. Kathy’s insight and financial acumen over the past decade has helped position Interior Savings as one of the most profitable and successful credit unions in the province.
We couldn’t imagine a more worthy candidate to be included in this feature. Thank you Kathy for setting the bar high for your team – including the 429 women currently on staff at Interior Savings.
