The iconic Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival is back June 8th and 9th in Kelowna’s Waterfront Park. Inspired by the quote from Socrates: “Wonder leads to wisdom”, this year’s theme is World of Wonder; a perfect fit for the festival and its intent of sparking the imaginations of those young and young at heart.

New this Year!

An exciting change has been made to the parade format. Rather than occurring outside the event grounds prior to the gates opening Saturday morning, the parade will move inside the festival grounds and begin at 11:00 am. Everyone is invited to join in as the parade weaves through the festival grounds.

Early Bird Passes will be available at Interior Savings branches (Kelowna, Rutland, Glenmore, Mission, West Kelowna and Lake Country) between May 8th and June 8th. And if you do purchase an Early Bird Pass, be sure to fill out the ballot attached to the pass and bring it to the Festival. You’ll be entered into a draw for a chance to win an Explore BC Grand Prize Package valued at over $6000. Details at www.fatcatfestival.ca

The Impact

While lots of fun, the Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival is also a wonderful learning environment for families, and the impact that it has on the community goes well beyond the two days of the Festival. Children and their families have the opportunity to explore and experience activities they might not have the opportunity to do otherwise. It also provides an opportunity for families to access resources and community supports all in one venue. The Festival is a great example of a community coming together to create a strong, supportive environment to help children flourish.

How do I get involved?

Each year over 200 volunteers work hard behind the scenes to create an exciting experience for children and their families. If you’d love to roll up your sleeves and get involved, or want to learn more check out the volunteer application here.
