Interior Savings Fat Cat Festival Celebrates the Power of Play

By Interior Savings
May 17, 2019

The much-loved Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival is back June 7th and 8th in Kelowna’s Waterfront Park. This year’s theme is The Power of Play – and there will be plenty of opportunities to do just that!

New this Year!

Friday of the Festival is being revamped to a variety show and dance party format that will run from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The show will feature Gustavo the Impossibilist for this night only, and will give festival-goers a taste of the other performances they can expect on Saturday.

Saturday of the festival will run from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The activity zone will be buzzing with lots of ways to play (including Interior Savings Great Money Challenge). The main stage will feature performances from Immigrant Lessons, Puzzle Theatre, and The Oot n’Oots – all under a large walled tent in case of poor weather.  The parade will be back inside the festival grounds and will begin at its new time of 12:45 pm. Everyone is invited to come dressed in their favourite costumes and get in on the parade as it weaves through the festival grounds.

Early Bird Passes Available Until May 31

The deadline to purchase Early Bird Family Passes has been extended for Interior Savings Members until May 31st. Get your weekend pass for just $10.00 from one of our branches in Kelowna, Rutland, Glenmore, Mission, West Kelowna or Lake Country.  That’s a $15 savings off the regular price. Family passes are intended for up to four people. Additional family members are $5.00 per person at the gate.

The Impact

In its 29th year, Interior Savings Fat Cat Festival has provided families with a lot of fun, laughter and many great memories. Better yet, it has played a role in strengthening our community with opportunities to connect and access resources and community supports. And if you’ve ever been to the festival, you know there are always new activities to explore. Guaranteed you won’t hear: “Mom, I’m bored”. The Festival is a great example of community collaboration focused on creating an enriching experience for children and their families.
